Let Hardcore Gamers Pass the Puck at Xbox NHL 10

And so you believe you are the most polished Xbox NHL 10 gaming superstar, and you have been crushing your opponents game after game. So you're the slickest Xbox NHL 10 player, and you've been putting all your rivals on ice.} You're a hardcore player who likes the thrill of sports video game battles. You know how to brawl with the best of them, and now you're ready to show the video game world that when it comes to Xbox NHL 10, you skate to victory every time. Come on down to the coliseum where hardcore players take each other on by playing sports video games for money. Wagering each other in sports video games for cash -- these players aren't screwing around.

To display your unquestioned status in sports video games, garnering up a string of victories, along with your opponent's cash, is the path to declaring your impressiveness.} Not that playing Xbox sports video games isn't great… but when you play for money, it's a lot more awesome. The missing piece of the puzzle that every video game player has been wanting for some time is here.} No matter how much smack talk your buds lay down, you get to call their bluff - when betting real cash is on the line, now it's time for them to put up or shut up.} By now, you're thirsting to face off against the tough guys at Xbox NHL 10, what with all the machismo floating around here.} We are well aware that you can't wait any longer, you just want to turn on the video game console, race over to the arena, and get the game on.} Who in hell wouldn't? Nonetheless - and this is a giant though - you need not just a cocky manner if you require to frost your competitors at Xbox NHL 10.} Make sure you know what you're doing out there… make sure your trash talk doesn't exceed your abilities. Or, in simpler terms: know the game. Don't be the dumbass who goes off half-cocked, doesn't know what he's doing, and makes an ass of himself. While your "shoot first, ask questions later" method may work for you during an attempt to score some ladies at your local pub, it may not be so ideal when playing sports video games for money, which is a real test of your manhood.} So see to it that you only start up a game once you have all the strategies down pat. If you don't, and your rival does, well, there's nothing colder than being the one to lose the wager.

There's no reason not to exploit your Xbox NHL 10 proficiency into a big payoff, as soon as you're certain you can't be outplayed. Check out if there happen to be any admirable (or even worthless) contenders, and begin sending for them to go head-to-head in the ice.} Start calling out the potential foe, if you think he's getting cold feet about being iced on the rink. If there's one thing about the hardcore gamers, they don't walk away from a challenge. But in the end, we're sure you'll talk some trash, play your match, and win some cash. Not that the video game world is surprised, given the popularity of EA's NHL series, but Xbox NHL 10 takes things to new heights. As truly incredible as the graphics to NHL 09 were, these are even more vivid and realistic. And the animation is even more fluid. The game play itself is faithful to its predecessor, NHL 09, which will no doubt make longtime fans happy, but at the same time, NHL 10 has some new features that will give everyone something to be stoked about. The newest aspect that's going to be most revered by the hardcore video game player is the post-whistle action, which, as we're sure you can already guess, is another opportunity to lock horns, this time after the whistle has been blown. More specifically, video game buffs have a short but grand opportunity to slip in a few checks - and a cheap shot or two, which therefore opens the door for the clash that you are coveting. And it's just a matter of time before your teammates come swarming to your defense and start throwing a few shots of their own, courtesy of the new level of sophistication in gaming technology.} As you might expect from the sport known for it's brawling, these fights usually collapse into a crazed free-for-all.

Of course, giving the game even more flavor is the Xbox NHL 10 soundtrack.} It would be impossible to imagine any sports video game worth its salt without some hard-driving tunes to amp up the action, and Xbox NHL 10 once again delivers. Check out these songs:} "Young Cardinals" by Alexisonfire, "Deathsmarch" by Cancer Bats, "Hellions on Parade" by CKY, "Golden Years" by Disco Ensemble, "Heroes of Our Time" by Dragonforce, "Anything 'Cept the Truth" by Eagles of Death Metal, "Oye Vaya" by Earl Greyhound, "Know Your Enemy" by Green Day, "Peace Sells" by Megadeth, "Wake Up! Wake Up!" by MeTalkPretty, "Keys to the City" from Ministry & Co-Conspirators, "Kids in America" by MxPx, Nickelback's "Burn It to the Ground," Papa Roach's "Into the Light," "Raccoon Eyes" by Priestess, "The Bravest Kids" from Rancid, Scorpions' rock anthem "Rock You Like a Hurricane," and "Fire It Up" by Thousand Foot Krutch. Hearing the stuff imparts an extra aspect to the total feeling - you will insist you're down on the stadium, taking part in the realthing

Intimidation tactics are yet another factor in NHL 10 that makes the gaming experience even more true to life.} If you want to give the cheering crowds something to really scream and yell about, start shaking down your opponent. The audience does more than sit there staring blankly into space. The crowd is as enthusiastic as they get.} Just as any group of spectators, this crowd goes nuts when their team performs well, and gets pissed when their team performs poorly. Once you score the tide-changing goal, the crowd will show their respect in a big way. Perhaps we're being a bit too judgmental in this case, but here's another concept to keep in mind.} Look at NHL 10, then compare that to the garbage your folks played back in the day, the things they claimed were sports video games.} This was before the revolution that gave us 8-bit and then 16-bit games - 4K was as good as it got. Have some sympathy for these gamers - if they needed a sports video game fix back in the early 80s, this is what they had:} This shot doesn't appear to be like a video game - but during the emergence of the video game era, this was believed to be "state of the art" graphics.} All you had were four men on the non-scrolling rink. A player and his goalie. And there was no roster of NHL teams to choose from. But here's something you're not going to believe.} This game was considered one, if not the, best sports video games available, upon its release.} No kidding - that game is what gamers stayed up all night playing in those days.} Primitive graphics and non-existent sound effects were all the rage in '82, apparently. Now get a load of what you get to play today, in comparison to the aforementioned "old school" game," though perhaps this isn't a just competition:} The way we see it, your father or grandfather or great grandfather or whoever was playing this stuff was living in the video game Paleolithic era.} Despite the great strides that the 8-bit gaming brought to the video game world, even that can't compete with today's unbelievable Xbox NHL video game. If you don't believe us, then check this one out: now you get to select from different teams - six to be exact. With this, the video game world thought nothing could be greater: If you're not temporarily blinded from viewing that one, get another gander at what NHL 10 has to offer, and once again be thankful for today's video game technology. Lest you forget, all the game modes that make Xbox NHL 10 great were not happening back in the old-school sports video games.} There was no Battle for the Cup, no Playoff Mode, no Season Mode, no Be a GM or Be a Tough Guy. And if you were desiring for online gaming in the olden days? Nothing else you could do but keep dreaming.} You were able to have six teams, flickering graphics, and very little else. Sports video games go to new heights, though, with Xbox NHL 10. The critics are all fairly unanimous in their belief that Xbox NHL 10 is truly one of the greatest sports video games ever made, not that anyone should be surprised.} And as soon as glancing at the game in action, you will be of the opinion the identical way - with the teammates' actions so lifelike as they navigate about the rink, it's practically unachievable to differentiate between a honest hockey game and the video game. For topping themselves this time around, EA deserves a serious shout-out.} The players' facial expressions alone are amazing - they've got more life and attitude than the cast members of your girlfriend's favorite daytime dramas. And let's not forget the fight scenes, and their incredible first-person perspective.} It's as if you're actually looking at a pair of fists pummeling the crap out of you, but without the bruises, blood and possible concussions.}

As in NHL 09, familiar voices Gary Thorne and Bill Clement join the action with their on-the-money commentary. Including this particular duo there is nothing to jeer at, also.} Think about these two gentlemen's qualifications.} ESPN big shot and NHL All-Star legend Bill Clement is but one half of the announcing team.} Then there's Thorne, Gary Thorne, ESPN stalwart, and Clement's partner-in-crime.} You won't believe your ears after catching Clement and Thorne's remarks about the game.} The level of realism in Xbox NHL 10 is so high, you'll think you've got the ESPN duo sitting right next to you in your home. Video game fans will be pleased with another one of Xbox NHL 10's new features, precision passing. In this game, the player has far more impact on the puck's overall speed, as opposed to the earlier entries in the NHL video game series. If that wasn't enough, you have the ability to bank your passes off of the board, based on your aim and strength.}

Xbox NHL 10, for the very first time, lets you to battle on the boards - one more advance that has the video game world wound up. You heard me - nowadays, when you are in control of the puck but are pinned up against the boards, you have the opportunity to hinder your rival from nabbing the puck, by kick-passing it to a teammate. But if you've got your opponent pinned to the boards, then you can take control of the action, assuming you're THE MAN to beat!}
